William has been working in the construction industry for 40+ years and is the driving force of Roper Hanks, LLC formerly Taylor Colins & Associates. Mr. Hanks changed the company’s name to Roper Hanks, LLC in 2004 to reflect the full spectrum of capabilities the company offers. William has extensive experience in all phases of construction beginning at an early age of 12. His father was a public bid contractor and owned his own construction company in Atlanta, Ga. William attended The Citadel in Charleston SC and studied Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural.
The company is diverse and construction ranges from base-building to interior build-outs. William has managed a multitude of projects in the commercial, institutional and industrial sectors ranging from 50,000 to 12 million dollars for the past 15 years. William has experience from conceptual design development budgets to hard bid projects including schools, medical facilities, commercial spaces, industrial facilities, and government institutions.
Unlike many General Contractors who develop “niche” markets, we have tried to develop “Relationships” with Architects and Developers while building several building types. In addition we have been hired to consult as “building experts” in both Residential and Commercial construction litigation. In each case our clients have prevailed receiving awards ranging $175,000 to over $1,250,000 dollars.
William’s love for music, architecture, travel, golf and the arts allow for many memorable adventures! His motto:
“Golf is the closest game to the game we call life. You get bad breaks from good shots; you get good breaks from bad shots – but you have to play the ball where it lies.” ~Bobby Jones
